"I just finished watching the movie " The Trueman Show",acted by Jim Carrey .
'What a movie!' , I couldn't help saying that when finshed that movie.
It talks about a show created by a director. He selected a baby and put him into a world he had created for him. In that world, everything was nice, people were friendly though they were all actors and actresses ,which means they were all fake. The boy was named' Trueman'. Since Trueman was born, he was left in that artifical island. Then people in the real world watched this 'Trueman Show' everyday. The director designed everything for trueman, his school, his friends, his fake parents, his fake wife...everything. He wanted to creat a person and world without worries but he was wrong. Trueman one day sensed the weird around him: everyday at the same time same place happened the same thing, people spoke the same thing with the same expression, no way!
He tried to run away but failed. Troubles seemed to be his twin brothers whenever he intended to escape from the island. Accidents, fires, traffic jams...Finally , he managed to escape from the cam and got a boat. Despite the seasick, he got on the boat and went on sailing. The director paniced while they found trueman was away. He set storms intending to stop Trueman but failed. Trueman was determined to have a true life. He kept sailing and sailing.
Trueman's boat stopped when it hit something. It was the end of the island. It was a wall colored like the sky. Trueman raised his head and he found out everything in the sky was painted. The sky, the clouds, the sea, everything was painted.
He found a 'Exit' button on the sky-blue wall, while trying to click it, he heard the director's voice from the sky." Trueman, the outside world has no lelies than this one I created for you. You belong here, I created the perfect world for you. " Trueman hesitated, yet clicked the button.
The show was over after more than 20 years and Trueman became a real true man when he dared to lose somehting, conquer somthing and face to something. That's how we all became a true person.
I can never forget the 'sky wall' and the director's God-like voice came from the unknown place. It reminds me so much of the world we are living in. Somehow we are all in a 'Trueman' world. Parents wanna control us, we work everyday following a certain routine. We dare not to lose the fortune we've gained and we lose more: hapiness, trust , friendship, health...

I have seen the Truman Show three times. Tt is such an amazing film . When I first saw 'The Truman Show' I came out of the theatre amazed. This is your first clue that you are watching something different from your normal Jim Carrey movie. I love the dialogue, performances, direction, music, and running time of this movie.I came away from 'The Truman Show' feeling inspired which is the goal of good filmmaking Jim Carrey was outstanding as Truman, underplaying him, not making him too comic or too dramatic, but giving true sincerity when asked.

Every individual in "The Truman Show" is an actor with one important exception: the lead character himself. For, while everyone around Truman is playing a part, he is cheerfully ignorant about the truth. He thinks this is all real, and his obliviousness to the situation gives the program its core appeal -- that there's nothing counterfeit about Truman. One day, however, when a former member of the cast sneaks back onto the set with a warning for the star, Truman begins to suspect that appearances can be deceiving. At last,he run away from the world others built for him,and he was able to find his real world which finally touched all the people.
Jim Carrey proved he could play it straight (well, at least a portion of the time) as a family man in Liar Liar, his 1997 comedy blockbuster. With The Truman Show, the elastic-faced, loose-limbed dynamo shows he can also be as serious as needed, in the title role of this imaginative tale of an electronic-age guinea pig. Screenwriter Andrew Niccol, whose directing debut, Gattaca, cautioned against the potential tyranny of genetic advances, again finds reasons for paranoia in technological progress, as an innocent named Truman Burbank becomes the unknowing, all-consuming subject of a 24-hour television network. Niccol's unconventional fable is superbly realized by director Peter Weir (Fearless, Dead Poets Society, Witness), who fashions a disorienting visual style to fit the artifice and pent-up anxiety of Truman's world.
As an intriguing, well-written piece of entertainment and a mild social commentary, The Truman Show deserves high marks. Not everything in the film works, and the script isn't perhaps as deep or incisive as it would like us to believe, but there's enough here to mark The film showed us the awful facts today in America.People do anything for their own interests,and everything become economic.Also,let us think,what if everyone around is acting on me?We trust people who live around us, but if the neighbours,even the families are cheating,what can we do ?At last,Truman was set free,which means the real man finally find his true world. Weir, who directed the great Witness, uses different camera angles to make you feel like youre actually watching The Truman Show and not a movie. He ends it before you get tired of the concept and helped Carrey and Harris give immaculate performances. Andrew Niccol script is a real star in the movie too because of its inventiveness and ingenuity. Overall, The Truman Show is what I like to call a true American classic.
As the movie started,Truemans life was peaceful and warm,filled with happyness,of which we may be envious.Everything went on wheels,such as the first footstep,the first time to go to school,the first kiss and the first marriage.This life should be pretty comfortable,and its just the one which most people want.
However,everyone in the movie knew Trueman in detail.They watched him raised up.Outside the island ，people watched it just like a interesting movie focus on ones the island,people acted all the roles in society,they did the same thing with sham day after day ，for instance,that twins seems like good oldies,said so much to pleasure Trueman,but they didnt really want to help him,that is,didnt want to buy any insurance.So,they were politely ，say hello to him "Good morning,good afternoon,good evening and goodnight!"
