last summer i took my first airplane flight from yantai to ian.
five minutes after i boarded the plane and was directed to my seat by a stewardess the plane took off. then from the public address system came the sweet voice of a stewardess to welcome us abroad. meanwhile magazines and newspapers were distributed and coffee was offered. when i felt cold, i was given a blanket. when i felt airsick, i was given a paper bag. it was really nice.i sat by a window and could enjoy a splendid view outside. the land was like a colored chessboard, dotted with linelike highways and railways and speck-like buildings. the white belt-like rivers were gleaming in the sunshine. far away i could see lot of cotton-like clouds which were very beautiful. i felt quite ecited.
about an hour later, we made a perfect landing. so i got to my destination fresh and uncrupled.
Not all the decisions made quickly are wrong
From my perspective, the rush decision may be wrong if it was made when we were in great anger or when wer were tempted by something. However, some decisions can be made instantly. We make decisions every day, and not every decision is so important that it needs our careful thought. For example, many white-collar workers go out to have lunch every weekday. Obviously, that simple decision does not need ten minutes to consider gains and losses. In some situations, there is not so much time for us to think twice, because the chance may be lost in any minute when we hesitate. For example, someone fells into the river and is drowning. In this case, most people will try to rescue the drowning one without delay. Another case is that sometimes we need to make quick decisions to grasp opportunities. As can be seen, the decisions that people make quickly are not always wrong, especially when we should follow our instinct in certain situations, such as emergencies and once in a lifetime chances.
Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay based on the picture below. You should start your essay with a brief description of the picture and then discuss what qualities an employer should look for in job applicant. You should give sound arguments to support your views and write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.
According to the picture, an employer turns down a job applicant, for his degree is less advanced than the other applicants, even though he has a good resume. Actually, what’s behind the cartoon is the tendency that employers focus on academic performance when hiring.
No one disputes that a college or higher degree opens doors. Despite that, as far as I’m concerned, academic degree should not be the primary criteria in selecting talents. First of all, academic degrees only represent the applicants’ proficiency in their school work, and cannot demonstrate their personality or other abilities. For instance, the responsibility of a human resources manager is to deal with people, and thus it requires advanced people skill which is by no means shown in the diploma. Second, emphasis on degrees may stall the development of the company. They will lose real talents if they judge people only by their educational background, while it is often the case that college drop-outs like Bill Gates, Michael Dell, Steve Jobs, etc., run wildly successful enterprises.
Therefore, instead of running after applicants with higher degrees, companies shouldbecome more concerned about what it takes to do the job and what a college education actually provides.
Online shopping has been a boon to many industries and companies looking to expand their markets. Also, it's convenient for shoppers who are too busy to leave the house. However, in some cases nothing can replace a true face to face shopping experience.
Internet shopping is convenient for the mothers who spend all day doing house chores and for the fathers who work a full-time job. On the other hand, there are limits to shopping online, for example: guessing the correct size of clothing on a computer screen can be very frustrating.
For the busy mother and father, online shopping is a very useful and convenient tool. But, there are instances, like clothes shopping, where nothing beats the real thing.
Question:Advertisement
1、广告给人们带来的益处。
2、广告给人们带来的烦恼。
3、如何正确利用广告的作用。
Example:
Advertisement can be a service to people. First, it is informative, and can help people buy and sell goods. Second, it can widen people''s knowledge, and make people more experienced. Lastly, people can enjoy themselves through those programs which advertisements have been put into.
Some advertisements, however, are not very useful to people, sometimes even harmful. An advertisement like this, for example, may put thousands of women and girls into trouble. "Disillusioned with life, love, marriage? You need help. Phone me." And the Savior gives his phone number to his sheep.
In modern times, many advertisements are subjective rather than objective, persuasive rather than informative. The only purpose of these advertisements is to persuade people to buy their poorly made products. Therefore, it is wise for people to make sure the advertisements are telling the truth."
The above chart shows the ta rates for personal income over rmb1,000 per month. the ta rates are divided into 9 stages. the lowest rate is 5% for the income between 1,000 and 1,500, while the highest rate is 45% and the difference between each stage is 5%。 therefore, the higher the income is, the more ta we should pay.
Ta is very important to our country, which can be used in the public services, such as education, road construction, public health and so on. as we all know, ta makes up a great part of our countrys revenue, and the development of our country depends on it. from what has been discussed above, we can see that it is everyones legal duty to pay ta, because it means making contributions to the country and everyone can benefit from it. those who try to dodge and evade taation are sure to be punished, in a word, paying ta is our responsibility for society.
Never Give Up
“Never give up” can be very encouraging words, but the majority of youngsters are likelyto give up regardless when dealing with the ordinary difficulties of life. As one example, manyyoung people are reluctant to continue their English study when they feel difficulty learningnew words. But if one takes “never give up” as a motto, possibilities and opportunities areexpanded.
It is true that giving up may make things temporarily easier, but what cannot be denied isthat new opportunities arise from perseverance. Never giving up can expand one’s possibilityfor success. When confronted with something unknown, a little bravery can result in thepossibility of success, like when Dr. Fleming discovered penicillin. Meanwhile, the sense ofnever giving up enhances one’s self-confidence. This makes one more likely to try new things, opening up even more new opportunities. It can even be a benefit to personal relationships.
In view of all factors, never giving up is crucial to the pursuit of dreams. Even though toilslie in the way, success is at the other end.
