从事初中英语教学工作的老师都知道这样一个规律:在初中三年的英语学习过程中,那些养成良好英语学习习惯的学生,即便小学时的基础不好或者是零基础,也能稳步提高自己的成绩;相反,那些学习习惯较差的学生,哪怕基础再好,也会在学习过程中逐步丢失自己的优势,甚至会掉队。因此,良好的学习习惯在英语学习过程中显得尤为重要。笔者拟从如何培养学生良好的英语学习习惯出发,谈一点自己的认识。
一、什么是学习习惯
《中学英语课程标准》指出:“基础教育阶段英语课程的任务是激发和培养学生学习英语的兴趣,使学生树立自信心,养成良好的学习习惯和形成有效的学习策略。”英语教师的首要任务应该是帮助学生养成良好的学习习惯。学习习惯是在学习过程中经过反复练习形成并发展,成为一种个体需要的自动化学 良好的学习习惯,有利于调动学生学习的积极性和主动性;有利于形成学习策略,提高学习效率;有利于培养自主学习能力;有利于培养创新精神和创造能力,使学生终身受益。
二、如何培养学习习惯
培养良好的学习习惯不是一蹴而就的,它需要严格要求,且经过长期的训练,重视起始阶段,由易到难、循序渐进。任何一种语言都是一个完整的体系,这个体系包括语言知识(语音、词汇、语法、语篇等)和语言技能(听、说、读、写)两个部分。从认知角度看,听和读是语言理解和信息输入能力,说和写是思想表达和信息输出能力。这四种技能在语言学习中相辅相成,互相促进。
1.培养“听”的习惯
“听”是语言、知识、信息获取的。重要手段,是语言学习的第一步。在英语学习过程中可以从以下几个方面着手:
(1)坚持全英文教学。教师在课堂上应尽可能坚持全英文教学,给学生提供一定的语言环境。提醒学生关注教师课堂上的每一句话,并要培养学生认真聆听他人回答问题的习惯。
(2)关注课堂上的听力材料。对课堂上使用的听力材料要坚持做到三个步骤:泛听,即从头至尾粗略地听完,了解听力材料的基本内容,在这一过程中教师可以提出几个难度较低的问题;精听,即逐句播放录音,听清材料中的每个细节;边听边复述。
(3)坚持课外听力练习。鼓励学生通过观看英语节目和收听外文电台,增加自己获取信息的途径。此外,看英文电影、听英文歌曲是练习听力的好方法。
2.培养“说”的习惯
英语首先是一种语言,它的性质决定了“说”的地位。一些学生在经过几年甚至十几年的英语学习后仍然无法开口,成为“准聋哑人”。这一现象值得每一位英语教学工作者重视。教师要鼓励学生不仅在课堂上用英语对话交流,而且要在日常生活中尽量多用英语表达,帮助学生克服害怕犯错、害怕说英语的紧张心理,忽略学生在口语表达中出现的一些不影响理解的小问题,鼓励他们大胆大声地表达自己的想法。
此外,教师可以在课外多创造机会让学生开口说英语。
在初高中英语衔接教学中,教师只有充分了解学生的实际情况,才能把握好教学的起点难度和课堂教学容量。根据任教的高一两个班级英语教学的实际,结合四川新课程改革要求,笔者认为,民族地区有效开展初高中英语衔接教学的难点主要有以下两个方面:
1.学生英语基础薄弱
语言知识体系缺漏,学生音标基本不会读,重音不会认,发音不到位,“方言英语”严重;词汇量严重偏少,基本的初中词汇无法识别和拼写;五种简单句式结构不清楚,主谓宾等基本概念不清晰;基本的时态、语态等语法知识不会用。
语言运用技能缺乏,学生阅读习惯较差,阅读速度较慢,缺乏把握文章的篇章结构和深层次含义的能力,阅读理解错误率较高;无法听懂老师的英文授课,也无法在课堂上用英语表达自己的想法;很难独立、正确地完成一个句子,造出的句子基本上是中国式英语或简单的单词堆砌。
2.初高中英语教学内容跨度大,难度增加
初中英语教学涉及的内容浅显易懂,教学时间充裕,强调学生听说能力的培养,学生仅靠机械记忆,一般都可以解决问题。而高中英语教材不仅容量大,难度也大,时间紧,实施新课改后更是如此。因此,新课改后的高中英语学习,许多问题需要靠学生理解后才能解决,单纯死记硬背已经无济于事。
二、初高中英语衔接教学策略
1.培养良好的英语学习习惯
埃德加富尔所说:“未来的文盲,不再是不识字的人,而是没有学会怎样学习的人。”良好的学习习惯是英语学习的前提。学生刚进入高中,一切都是新鲜的,容易接受新的理念,这个阶段有利于学生学习习惯的重塑。笔者在教学过程中着重培养学生以下几个方面的学习习惯:
(1)使用工具书的习惯
学好英语,相关的工具书是必备的。一是指导学生选择一本词典,将词典作为英语学习的良师益友,学会查阅词典,强调英英对译。让学生遇到词汇方面的问题时,首先自己动手查阅词典而非被动等待老师解答,这样学生对于词汇的印象会更为深刻;二是准备一本好的语法工具书,经常翻阅,逐渐将语法知识消化吸收;三是学生要养成平时收集阅读过程中的词汇、短语和文化背景资料的习惯,使所收集资料成为学生的第三部“工具书”。
(2)开口讲英语的习惯
新课改突出强调以学生为主体,提高学生的语言应用能力。针对民族地区学生课堂英语学习难开口的特点,笔者认为可以从以下方面鼓励学生多讲英语。一是坚持英语课堂值日报告,每堂英语课前五分钟由学生做值日报告,内容、题材不限,学生表现作为期末考评内容之一;二是多开展英语演讲、歌唱活动,寓教于乐;三是营造宽松的课堂环境,消除学生讲英语的恐惧感,老师应以鼓励为主。
(3)整理错题的习惯
要求学生对于每一次作业和考试中的错误,建立专门错题集,用不同颜色的笔分析、整理,归纳总结错误原因。对于错题,要求学生当天整理,定期复习,考前必看,减少考试中类似错误的发生。整理错题的习惯,可以完善学生知识体系,提高复习的效率,做到有的放矢。
2.查漏补缺、夯实基础
(1)补习语言基础知识
利用开学前几周的时间,集中对学生的语音知识、重点语法知识、重点的单词、短语和句型三大块进行补习。首先,对学生进行20个元音音索,28个辅音音素的教学,老师先做示范,学生认真模仿,矫正自己的发音,然后根据拼读规则学会拼读单词,并在读的过程中注意重读、浊化。只有把单词读准了,单词才能记得牢,提高英语口语和听力才有可能;其次,复习初中重点的语法知识,比如划分句子成分,五种简单句式结构,几种时态和简单从句的应用等;另外,以检测的方式复习初中重点单词和短语以及句型。
(2)语言应用能力的培养
培养学生的阅读技能和写作技能,提高学生应用语言的能力。阅读能力的培养方面,要指导学生阅读一些课外经典英文读物,扩大阅读面,同时开展课堂限时阅读练习,提高学生的阅读速度,另外,在课文教学过程中有针对性地培养学生猜词、概括文章大意的能力。写作能力培养方面,要鼓励学生多看优秀范文,平时做好句型句式的积累,同时要规范学生的书写。
3.充分利用信息技术促进教学
理县七一中学经过灾后重建,设施设备非常完善,是四川省中小学现代教育技术示范学校。每间教室配有多媒体和电子白板,为有效开展初高中英语衔接教学创造了条件。笔者认为,可以充分利用学校良好的资源条件,通过视频和影像资料,创新教学模式,丰富课堂教学内容,激发学生的学习热情。

After reading this outstanding book, I was shocked by Sara, a little girl who suffered such unimaginable pain and tortures, but still had an opposite attitude towards life. What impresses me most is that Sara put on her act of being a princess when she wore thin bottom shoes, wading in the street of London. From my point of view, her spirit of being so strong-minded when she was in hard times is worth admiring.
小学英语教学方法和目标
怎样解决小学英语教学中的重、难点
教育是一种主动的过程,必须通过主体的积极体验、参与、实践,以及主动地尝试与创造,才能获得认知和语言能力的发展。新授是这个过程中必不可少的环节。在授新知时,我们应认识到小学生的理解能力相对较弱,注意力不易集中,不喜欢单调的重复和机械的训练。若一味地要他们读字母、单词,学生的积极性很难被调动起来,教学效果势必受到影响。因此,教师在课堂上,应从学生的心理和生理特点出发,充分利用小学生模仿力强、求知欲强、记忆力好、表现欲和创造力强等特点,围绕教学中的难点、重点,设计生动活泼、有趣多样的学习活动,寓教于乐。
一、新旧联系法
现在大多数小学英语采用了循环式的编排方法,教材“由浅入深,由易到难,循序渐进”;“早渗透,重积累”。因此,在教学过程中应该注意教材的系统性,注重新旧知识的联系。
二、比较教学法
在英语学习中,有许多抽象的形容词,如big,small,long,short,strong,weak等单词。这时,可采用对比法,拿出abigball和asmallball,并说出big,small让学生知其意,在此基础上再进行教学。例What'sthat?What'sthis?也可采用该方法,手指远处东西问What'sthat?手指近处东西问What'sthis?不用多解释,学生很快就理解其意思。
三、情景表演法
低年级小朋友不会书写母语,但能听懂。而英语不是我们本民族的语言,如果没有一定的语境或是情景,小学生无法理解他们从未学过的英语句子,因此,在传达较难的句子时,教师可将其表演出来。如句子:Puttheeggintheeggcup.可以这样假设,握起拳头的右手为egg,左手为eggcup,一边把右手放进左手中,一边说Puttheeggintheeggcup.让每个学生一边说一边做,使严肃的课堂变成了生动活泼的交流场所。学生不用枯燥单调的反复读记便会很快记住。
四、自编快板法
小学生对有节奏的快板、歌曲十分感兴趣,通过实践,也证明了此法可行。在鲜明的节拍中,孩子们轻松地理解了新知识。如教SeeingaDoctor一课时,可跳出课本的框子,把课本中的知识按自己的教法编成快板形式。其内容如下:

五、游戏竞赛法
游戏竞赛是学生乐此不疲的形式,在游戏竞赛中,学生乐学乐记,积极性浓厚,参与面也广。
如:BigBisacat.Smallbisasnail.Thecatandthesnail,theyarethelettersBb.尽管这首小诗有相应的挂图,但其内容对于刚进入一年级的`小学生而言,实在是太难了。于是我采用了游戏:LOUDERANDLOWER进行教学。我大声读,学生轻轻读;我轻声读,学生则大声读。他们读对了,加一颗星,读错了,我加一颗星。在Yeah....的欢呼声中我惨败了,而学生已在不知不觉中学会了这首诗歌。
对于施教者来说,任何一次教学都是面临一次新的挑战。而每一次新的挑战又都需要运用恰当的教学方法去加以破解。“教无定法”,在新授阶段还可以用其他许多形式进行教学,充分调动学生的积极性,让学生在动脑、动口、动手中开开心心地学习知识,把学习英语当作一件乐事来做。

初中学生的英语学习基础参差不齐,给教师的教学带来许多困难。学生学习成绩两极分化严重,普英语学科分化问题更为突出。怎样帮助、指导学生增强学习英语的信心,变厌学为乐学,提高学生的整体水平,从而扭转两极分化现状,已成为每位英语课教师探讨的重要课题之一。通过不断研究和实践,我摸索出一种办法,就是本着整体教学思想,分组进行教学,重视师生关系提高自身素质来激活课堂气氛,用心对作业评语。这些不但提高了差生的英语成绩,也较好地解决了两极分化问题。
一、整体教学思想
整体教学是一种教学思想,不应单纯地被看为一种教学方法。整体教学思想是现代外语教育教学研究的重大成果,是社会发展和中学教育教学的目标对于外语教学的需要。外语教学和教研人员都应该认识到:整体教学是现代外语教育教学理论和实践研究的成果所确定的。现代外语教育教学理论和实践研究得出为众多外语教学流派所公认的结论有3条:
(1)部分之和不等于整体。
语言是个活的机体,不能切割成一块一块地去学。学习了某种语言一条条、一项项的知识,绝不等于掌握了语言整体。
(2)语言知识不等于语言运用。
语音、语法、词汇等只属于语言的结构体系。语音、语法、词汇等是语言运用的准备,但不等于语言运用。
(3)语言教学的目的应该是语言运用,而不是语言知识的掌握。
二、提高教师自身的素质
提高教师自身素质是实施素质教育的关键。教师在教学中,年复一年,届复一届地传授着同样的内容,很容易形成固定的思维模式,许多知识也会逐渐遗忘。作为“授业”和“解惑”者的教师,应该是一个自觉的终身学习者,在学习实践中不断发展创新。如果教师能把自己的学识与所教的内容融会贯通,课堂教学活动就会变得生动而有趣,学生易于理解,乐于接受,轻松自然地获取新的知识。
三、重视师生关系,激活课堂气氛
德国教育家赫尔巴特说:“在所有的东西中间,人最需要的东西乃是人”。人需要关怀需要爱,人需要得到别人的尊重和信任。师生之间也一样。中学生情感丰富,教师在教学中要懂得以情感人,特别是“差生”更需要教师的关怀、爱护。
教师在教学中,要借用表情、眼神、嗓音等非语言形式,让学生感受到信任和友爱。每个学生都有追求上进的愿望,但学生间总存在着个体差异,教师要主动了解他们的学习、兴趣、爱好等,有的放矢地进行教育,如在提问、练习中,可根据学生的能力差异分组
在调查了解摸清底细的基础上分组由于每个学生在学习目的与动机、学习习惯与方法、智力水平与接受能力上存在着差异,如果任课教师在教学中墨守陈规,这就往往会适成许多学生“初一劲头十足”,“初二情绪低落”,“初三放弃不学”的局面。到了初三,英语教师面对众多英语水平参差不齐且对英语失去学习信心的学生,真是弃之不忍,教之无策。只好课上教好生,课下抓差生,加班加点,辛苦之极却事倍功半。如何摆脱这样困境,变被动为主动?如何提高教学效果?于是我在“因人施教”、“因材施教”上进行探索。既然学生的英语学习水平有明显的差异,那么只采用面对少数学习成绩好的学生的课堂教学模式显然是不符合面向全体学生的教学要求的。课堂教学是学生掌握教学内容的主渠道,如果把大多数中差学生排除在外,势必造成课上损失课下补的恶性循环……
在教学过程中,作为主导者的教师应充分认识到:学生正处于心理发展的关键时期,学习状态极易受情感因素的影响。学生对教师的`情感能直接影响甚至决定他们的学习态度和学习效果。为此,教师要努力克服情感因素对学生的负面影响,从根本上提高自身素质和个人魅力,让学生身心愉快地参与课堂教学活动,以提高学习效率。
四、作业评语与课堂用语是英语教学的两个要素。
教师使用课堂用语是为了提高学生的英语口语理解和表达能力,对于知识点和书面表达的掌握程度则要通过作业来练习和检验。教师多使用作业评语可以提高学生的书面理解和表达能力。课堂用语转眼即逝,而作业评语却能长久保存。在课堂上教师面对的是全班学生,在有限的课堂时间内不可能逐一对学生进行评价。而教师在批改作业时所面对的是每一位学生的作业,便于因材施教,个别指导。可以说,评语可弥补课堂教学的不足,是师生对话的一种方式。学生阅读作业评语是对语言的实际运用。因为教师在评语中所使用的语言是有实际内容的,即对某个学生及其作业的具体情况所进行的分析或评价,所以很容易被学生理解、接受或效仿。
作业评语所使用的语言应该与学生的语言水平相当。教师可以利用学生已学的单词、短语、句型、时态、语态、语气或篇章结构等,也可以用即将接触的语言。这不仅可以评价作业,而且能帮助学生巩固和运用语言
